Oscar Flores, MD, MSc
Oscar Flores is trained in Medicine at San Martin de Porres University (USMP) and obtained a Master of Global Health and Development from the University College London in 2016. He is member of the Center of Research in Aging of USMP. He coordinates a project in the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño (National Children’s Hospital) related to lung ultrasound and electronic auscultation (APURO). Additionally, he co-coordinates the Global Excellence of Chronic Obstructive Disease Study (GECO) in San Juan de Miraflores (Lima, Peru).
Recently, he obtained an award to be a Fogarty Global Health Fellow in the cohort 2018-2019 funded by Fogarty International Center, and his project seeks for understanding the role of mental health in COPD in Lima, Peru. His main research interest is to improve the health of elderly populations in low-middle income countries (LMIC), particularly in terms of mental health and physical capability. Additionally, Oscar is involved in medical education, teaching public health for undergraduate and postgraduate in USMP.
