Mitra Moazzami, MSPH

Mitra Moazzami is a second-year graduate student of the MSPH program in International Health in the Global Disease Epidemiology and Control concentration at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Mitra received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from York University, Toronto, Canada. She also took some time off from school and volunteered at an HIV clinic in Iran, designed for capacity building of women and children living with HIV.

As a graduate student, Mitra received the Global Established Multidisciplinary Site grant from the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health, which she used to travel to Puno, Peru and research the clinical implications of household air pollution in rural areas. Specifically, Mitra will seek to examine the implications of using liquified-propane gas stoves for improving pulmonary health in this setting.
