Luu Pham, MD
Luu Pham is an Instructor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University. After studying biological signals as part of a bachelor’s degree program in Biomedical Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University, he received a doctor of medicine degree at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. During the course of a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Virginia, he drew upon his background in engineering in order to extract physiologic signals from telemetry recordings in the ICU and develop a predictive model of respiratory decompensation.
His interests in physiology and biologic rhythms ultimately led him to enroll in the Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is currently studying the deleterious effects of hypoxia on sleep respiratory physiology and metabolism.
