Kirsten Koehler, MPH, PhD
Kirsten Koehler is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Health Sciences Department at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an expert in exposure assessment for many occupational and environmental hazards. Dr. Koehler has extensive background in aerosol research, has worked with all commonly used instruments, both real-time and filterbased measurement systems, used in the field. Dr. Koehler has worked on several studies and continues to do research on studies where personal exposure assessment is used to evaluate the differences between individual and area-wide exposure assessments. By pairing direct-reading instruments with a GPS unit, she has been able to apportion exposures to different microenvironments. Dr. Koehler has a strong publication record with over 40 contributions to the peer-reviewed literature.
